Merry Christmas and thank you for making a difference.

We would like to wish ALL our customers a Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year. We also thank you for your valued partnership and commitment to making a dent in world poverty through Fairtrade. Your Christmas purchases have helped our producers, their families and their communities to build a better future through fair trade.

Tribes and Nations will be closed for the holiday season from 23rd December 2008 to 12th January 2009 — we will be running a Fairtrade Cafe at the CMS Conference in Katoomba from 2 January to 9 January 2009.
From January 12th until January 27th the office will be open on a part-time basis only.

Welcome to Tribes & Nations

Building a Fair Trade bridge between the developing world and the west.

Welcome to Tribes and Nations, a fair trade initiative connecting the artisans of the developing world with the West. We have beautifully handcrafted goods which bring a ‘living wage’ to the producer, beyond subsistence or exploitation.

We offer you affordable luxuries — silks from Cambodia and Indonesia, 100% cotton from India and Sri Lanka, handmade jewellery from South Africa and fairtrade tea, coffee and chocolate.

We invite you to meet our amazing partners who all abide by fair trade principles. They range from charities to ministries to micro-enterprises. Some are the actual founders of groups that touch the most marginalised of the poor. One common hand spun thread, that runs through all our partners, is that they all share a desire to see the poor given a ray of hope.

As an online store we make sure your order is sent before the end of the next business day. If your purchase is a gift, it will be beautifully wrapped in colourful tissue paper with a ribbon and your message hand written on a tag. We can also organise to send you your monthly supplies of fairtrade tea, coffee and chocolate for your office, church or home.

We value the environmental, health and ethical benefits of our organic tea, coffee, chocolate and cocoa, but above all, we value the fairtrade system that lies behind each one. Fairtrade makes sure the third world producer receives a better deal. It ensures a sustainable income for each farmer or worker. It is more than just food on the table, it enables them to educate and clothe their children, to provide for their medical needs, have access to clean water and live in secure and reasonable conditions. It gives them some part of the security that we have and take for granted.

At Tribes and Nations we want to encourage the initiative, dignity and hope in our partners and those whom they help. We want them to receive a fair share of the justice and resources of this earth.

We welcome you to share in our vision and journey. We invite you to be pro-active in making a difference, as we play our part in making poverty history through fair trade.
